Mr. Barakat is the founder and Chairman of Wamar International Group, a global conglomerate of leading companies formed in 1983, offering services in the fields of Aviaiton, Manufacturing, Power Generation, Oil and Gas, Aviation, Life Support, and Defense & Security.
Mr. Barakat’s companies provide worldwide services with offices in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Munich, Belfort (France), Johannesburg, Amman (Jordan), and Baghdad (Iraq).He is a Board Member for the World Engagement Institute, and was appointed by the United States Secretary of Commerce to a 3-year term as a member of the U.S. Business Dialogue.
Mr. Barakat’s professional memberships include The American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Mr. Barakat received degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Oregon State University and MIT, as well as a graduate degree in Air Transport and Air Law from Cranfield University in England.
During his career, Mr. Mousavi has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to lead complicated projects from inception to success. In his latest endeavor prior to OCG, Mr. Mousavi was a partner and the CEO of an airborne logistics company operating in Africa.
During Mr. Mousavi's tenure, the company became one of the fastest growing humanitarain aid and logistics companies, owned and operated fixed wing and rotary aircraft, and delivered cargo in austere environments such as Djibouti, Somalia, Afghanistan, and South Sudan for NGOs, international relief organizations, and western governments, and under contracts funded by the United Nations, the World Food Programme, UNICEF, and the U.S. Dept. of State, among others.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Mousavi served as the CEO of a leading US telecommunications company in Seattle acquired by NASDAQ-listed TNS, at Microsoft as a senior manager directing the company's e-commerce solution, as the CEO and co-founder mPoria - a mobile commerce company partly purchased by Sega-Sami of Japan, as a key member of the executive team at AskMe.com – one of the largest early online companies, and as the cofounder of eCentives, an early internet start-up company that was subsequently taken public.
Mr. Mousavi holds two undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the University of Rhode Island, and an MBA from Darden at the University of Virginia.
During the past 25 years, Mr. Weller has held executive management roles spanning corporate development, sales, marketing and general operations. Mr. Weller was most recently appointed as the President and CEO of Radian Labs, LLC – an intellectual property licensing firm holding aerospace technology patents covering broad use of a class of metamaterials called Machine Augmented Composites. Previously, Mr. Weller served as the President of a mobile software company in the US, where he led customer acquisition and marketing initiatives growing the company from its inception to embedded technology partnerships with four of the top five U.S. mobile operators including AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, leading to an eventual $112M acquisition.
In his earlier career, Mr. Weller spent 6 years at Research in Motion/BlackBerry as the most senior executive of the company in the United States, managing the company’s famous Blackberry offering from launch to $900M in annual revenues through a series of strategic partnerships with various companies including AT&T Wireless. Prior to RIM, he was a founding member of Wireless Knowledge – a Microsoft/Qualcomm partnership, as well as part of QPE – a Sony/Qualcomm joint venture formed to launch a new network technology in North America.
Mr. Weller has a BA from the University of Washington and a Masters from Duke University where he remains active with Duke Law `Sc`hool’s Entrepreneurship Program.
Mr. Whitaker is the former deputy administrator for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), appointed by President Obama to oversee the safe and efficient operations of the largest aerospace system in the world. Mr. Whitaker’s role at the FAA included responsibility for more than 50,000 daily operations, as well as enforcing safety standards for all equipment and aerospace professionals within the aviation industry.
Mr. Whitaker also served as the chief NextGen officer responsible for the development and implementation of the FAA's Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) - an air traffic modernization program shifting control from ground-based radar to state-of-the-art satellite technology.
Prior to his role at the FAA, Mr. Whitaker spent 20 years in the aviation industry, first at TWA as Assistant General Counsel, then with United Airlines in roles including SVP, Alliances, International and Regulatory Affairs. At United, Mr. Whitaker was responsible for the significant expansion of the airline’s international route and alliance network, and served on the management board of Star Alliance. After 15 years at United, Mr. Whitaker was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of InterGlobe Enterprises, a travel-related holding company that owns India’s largest airline – IndiGo.
A private pilot working toward his instrument rating, Mr. Whitaker holds degrees in Political Science and French from the University of Louisville, and cum laude graduate honors from Georgetown University Law Center.
Bill Ashworth is a 45-year industry veteran with broad leadership experience in commercial aviation engineering, FAA type certification and transport airplane maintenance and modification. Mr. Ashworth’s career includes 25 years in MRO technical management including serving as President, Goodrich Aviation Technical Services, a major transport airplane heavy maintenance and modification business.
Prior to his role at Goodrich, Mr. Ashworth spent 15 years at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), holding various aircraft certification engineering positions including serving as the Manager, Seattle Aircraft Certification Office.
Since 2011 Mr. Ashworth has been serving as the CEO of Aviation Partners Boeing (APB), a joint venture formed between Aviation Partners and Boeing to design and produce Blended Winglets – a wingtip modification that enhances aircraft aerodynamic efficiency and flight characteristics – for Boeing aircraft.
Mr. Ashworth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering, and a Masters in Technical Management. He has held FAA DER and DAR delegations and is an active licensed airframe and powerplant technician and private pilot.
Ted Farid has a 50-year track record leading aircraft sales and marketing focused on private and government clients worldwide. Currently Chairman of JetHQ, a Dubai-based international broker of aircraft products, Mr. Farid has held executive positions with Cessna, Bombardier Learjet and Raytheon Aircraft/Hawker Beechcraft.
With a broad background in aviation, Mr Farid has been involved in numerous industry milestones including the development and certification of Cessna’s first business jet, the Citation, as well as the reemergence of the Learjet brand - including the introduction of the Learjet 60 and Learjet 45. In 1996, Mr. Farid joined Raytheon Aircraft Company as vice president of special mission sales, eventually heading both domestic and international aircraft sales of Hawker jets and Beechcraft turboprop products. After 18 years with Raytheon Aircraft, Mr. Farid retired from his role as SVP International sales following the Textron acquisition of the company.
In addition to his current role as Chairman of Jet HQ, Mr. Farid maintains his private pilot license and resides in Wichita, Kansas.
Mr. Keady is an expert in the category of special mission aircraft sales and marketing, having led programs at three of the top industry players in both domestic and international roles, with a focus on foreign government and corporate customers. Most recently at Textron Aviation, Mr Keady headed global special mission aircraft sales after leading Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa commercial/special mission programs.
Additionally, Mr. Keady has led sales programs to the US Government and other governments across the globe, including the US Department of Defense, overseeing sales, contract management and delivery to multiple US government agencies including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the Customs and Border Protection agency (CBP). Mr. Keady serves as the President of Galway Aviation, a category leader in aviation consulting services for special purpose aircraft supporting companies such as Cowen Aviation Finance, Textron Aviation Defense and Imsar, among others.
Mr. Keady is a commercial pilot and has a degree in Aerospace Sciences from the University of North Dakota.
Pasha Saleh is a 25-year veteran of the aviation industry and has held multiple executive positions at leading organizations. At Alaska Airlines, he serves as an advisor to senior management in areas of strategy, innovation, and operational efficiency, and is a qualified and current Boeing 737 pilot.
Mr. Saleh previously led the business development and customer support organizations at AirMap, the world's leading provider of airspace intelligence for unmanned aircraft.
He has also served as Regional Director of Strategy and Business Development at the Boeing Company, and Director of Sales at Hawker Beechcraft Corporation.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Saleh was a management consultant at McKinsey and Company where he specialized in strategy and operations within the airline and aerospace industries.
Mr. Saleh began his career as a captain at Continental Express Airlines. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with seven type ratings and has over 7,000 hours of flight experience.
Mr. Saleh earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He serves on the advisory board of Zunum Aero and is an advisor to numerous early-stage startups.
